Wiggly Storytime At The Santa Barbara Library

The Santa Barbara Public Library has is a great resource for the Santa Barbara community. Ian Filippini did some investigating and found out that in addition to books and other media, classes and events for adults, the library has amazing programs for children. Ian Filippini is an uncle many times over, so he is no stranger to the Santa Barbara Public Library (http://www.santabarbaraca.gov/gov/depts/lib/).

The SBPL has an amazing new children’s library in the downstairs area of their central branch. This magical place has a plethora of children’s books, computers with educational programs, and toys for young library visitors to play with. In addition to all of these great components, Ian Filippini found out that the children’s library offers a fun class every Thursday called Wiggly Storytime .

Ian Filippini took his niece and found out what fun Wiggly Storytime is. A facilitator from the library sings songs, teaches the children movement and of course reads a fun story. This class is for babies through preschool aged children and is a fun time for all.

Miso Hungry

Everyone, like Ian Filippini, loves a little sushi from time to time. Good sushi is fresh, great tasting and generally a healthy meal. Some of the downsides to eating sushi can be a long wait and a hi check amount. In Santa Barbara there is a solution to these sushi issues and the solution is Miso Hungry (www.misohungryca.com).

Ian Filippini likes Miso Hungry because they offer sushi options in a casual and quick environment. Miso Hungry is located on State Street at Ontare in the same strip mall as Tee Off and Rudy’s. Miso Hungry offers sushi wraps, salads, rice bowls and other sushi snacks. Ian Filippini likes that you can order off of the menu, or make your own creation!

You can dine in at Miso Hungry, or take it to go. And they even have a kids menu! If you are in the mood for a quick bite, check out Miso Hungry. If you are in the mood to learn more about Ian Filippini, please visit www.ian1031.com.

SB Menus

We all have those nights, (or days), when we don’t want to cook or the day just got away from us. Whatever are we to do? Order in! In Ian Filippini’s experience, the usual go-to for ordering food in is either pizza or Chinese food, but what if those options aren’t striking your mood? In Santa Barbara, there is another great option and it is ordering from www.sbmenus.com.

SB Menus offers food delivery from multiple restaurants throughout the Santa Barbara area. You can create an account on their website, or order from their app. Once you create an account and input your address, SB Menus gives you a list of places and their menus that will deliver to your location. Ian Filippini loves having this option to order a variety of meals, instead of the usual suspects of pizza and Chinese food.

Some of the restaurant options on SB Menus are Silvergreens, Ichiban, Pascucci, Los Agaves, California Pizza Kitchen and many more! Ian Filippini agrees from experience that there are too many restaurants to mention here. Whether you are in the mood for a gourmet burger, sushi, or Mexican food, chances are that SB Menus has an option for you.

May Gray Doesn’t Bother Ian Filippini http://ianfilippini.com/may-gray-doesnt-bother-ian-filippini/ Wed, 10 May 2017 00:23:32 +0000 http://ianfilippini.com/?p=23

May Gray

Weather in Santa Barbara, and Southern California in general, is the kind of weather that everyone wants to live in (including Ian Filippini). It is never too hot, or too cold here, which makes the temperatures always comfortable and accommodating. Since Santa Barbara is on the coast, it does have some “odd” weather patterns at times. One of these interesting phenomenoms is what locals call “May Gray.”

May Gray is a term that Ian Filippini, (and most other locals), use to describe the weather in Santa Barbara and Southern California during the month of May. Due to the cold ocean temperatures and the hot temperatures inland over the mountains, there is a thick marine layer that forms. This marine layer causes the mornings to be filled with cloud cover and lower temperatures not characteristic throughout most other areas of the state.

Ian Filippini doesn’t mind May Gray because that means that by noon, the cloud cover melts away and the afternoons are sunny and filled with perfect low-mid seventies temperatures. May Gray may seem like a gloomy lead into summer, but most people that live in Santa Barbara aren’t bothered by it. Ian Filippini’s Ready For Mother’s Day Brunch! http://ianfilippini.com/ian-filippinis-ready-for-mothers-day-brunch/ Thu, 04 May 2017 17:21:43 +0000 http://ianfilippini.com/?p=19

Mother’s Day Brunch Spots

Ian Filippini knows that Mother’s Day is a special occasion not only for his own mother, but for the other mothers in his life also, such as his grandmother and his sisters. Mother’s Day is a day to show mothers how much they are loved and appreciated. This can be done with gifts, but Ian Filippini prefers to show his love and respect through great food and drinks by taking the mothers in his life out for Mother’s Day brunch!

There are so many great brunch places all over Santa Barbara that Ian Filippini turns to Yelp to help give him some ideas on where to spend Mother’s Day Brunch (https://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=Mothers+Day+Brunch&find_loc=Santa+Barbara%2C+CA). Here are the top three places that Ian Filippini found for a lovely Mother’s Day brunch: Finch & Fork, Stonehouse Restaurant, and Bella Vista at the Four Seasons Biltmore.

Finch & Fork (http://www.finchandforkrestaurant.com) is a lovely brunch spot with options to order off of their regular menu, or to participate in their fixed brunch menu. The food here is made with quality ingredients that are locally sourced when possible. At Finch & Fork you can go fancy or casual!

Stonehouse Restaurant (http://www.sanysidroranch.com/santa-barbara-restaurants) is a special brunch spot for its amazing location at the San Ysidro Ranch. The grounds and the views here alone make this a magical place to take mom on her special day (and Ian Filippini loves the food too)!

Bella Vista at the Four Seasons in Montecito (http://www.fourseasons.com/santabarbara/dining/) is another great spot to take your mother…or anyone! Their food never disappoints and the views of the Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands are a Mother’s Day gift all on their own!

Ian Filippini hasn’t decided where to take his mom yet, but he has lots of great choices! To find out more about Ian Filippini, please visit http://ianfilippini.co/ and http://www.slideshare.net/ianfilippini/.

The Lark

Ian Filippini Santa Barbara is no stranger to good restaurants, and The Lark does not disappoint. The Lark is an eclectic restaurant located in downtown Santa Barbara in The Funk Zone at 131 Anacapa Street. Though The Lark has been around for a few years now, Ian Filippini Santa Barbara knows it is wise to make a reservation before heading over.

The kitchen staff at The Lark pride themselves on serving as much responsibly sourced, local food as possible. Some of Ian Filippini Santa Barbara’s favorite dishes at The Lark are the shrimp and grits, crispy duck confit, and the carmelized diver scallops. Yum! Food at The Lark is served “family style” for your party to share all of the great dishes. Even some of the seating at The Lark is community seating, so you might meet some new friends while eating some new food!

Of course The Lark also has a full bar offering specialty crafted cocktails, or they will make anything your creative mind desires. Some of their most popular drinks are the Jackrabbit, the Summerland, and the Hummingbird. Ian Filippini Santa Barbara agrees we should try them all!
